In 2020 I graduated from Nechako Valley Secondary School. My high school experience included some hybrid learning with the help of Ebus Academy. This homeschool program taught me about alternate education and helped my take courses like Childcare 12 which were not offered in my high school.

After high school I attended the College of New Caledonia and completed a diploma in social service work. I have always known that I wanted to work with kids and I was drawn to social work because this diploma provided the training to work with kids diagnosed with diverse needs. This diploma provides me with a great foundation for teaching.
During my time at the college I had the opportunity of doing my practicum at WL Mcleod Elementary school where I got to spend time in the resource room working one on one with students and working in a grade 1/2 class. During this practicum I fell in love with teaching and working with students. My principal and Vice Principal provided me with recommendations into a teaching program.
In 2023 after graduating from CNC I was accepted into Thompson Rivers University. I completed the program prerequisites in a semester and was accepted into the Bachelor of Education program. I will graduate from this program in April of 2026.
In this scrapbook and reflection I reflected on my educational journey and what it means to me. Through this exercise I was able to gain insight into my own past and discover what being an educator means to me.
